Fort Collins’ Outdoor Pianos

Look what we found in downtown Fort Collins! What a cool idea: outdoor pianos. It seems, these days, that people are trying to get rid of their big, bulky pianos; fading are the days when families crowded around the piano for entertainment. Craigslist is crowded with ads for pianos–”free if you move it!” Fort Collins has capitalized on this in an effort to make downtown more artsy.

When not in use, these colorfully painted pianos are covered up with clear tarps, and if you get the hankering to play one of these babies while you’re walking by, just pull the tarp off, sit down, and play.

Leave it to Fort Collins to encourage creativity.

I’m so happy you made a post about this!! It reminds me of NYC and their painted cows but other than being creatively-painted cows they’re just pretty cows. And what the heck are cows doing in NYC anyway? I think FoCo totally has a one up on NYC with the pianos.
