Traveling has further confirmed that Grand Junction has almost no options for cultural cuisine.
Aubrey took me to a local Italian market: Mazzaro’s Italian Market — an experience in itself.
You can pretty much find anything of the Italian food persuasion at this charming indoor market. Mazzaros is obviously a local favorite as it was packed with people. We could barely get from one side of the market to the other!
Aubrey and I outside the market.
If you’re as big of a cheese enthusiast as I am, you will die when you see their selection of cheese. Think fresh mozerella, blocks of parmesan, and cheese samples galore so you can test drive it before you drop a chunk of change.
This guy seranaded us in Italian, but here, he doesn’t look too thrilled.
Mazzaro’s made me sad that I am currently not cooking; it would be SO fun to grab and authentic Italian cookbook and start trying out recipes–after a HUGE shopping spree at Mazzaro’s of course!
