We’ve been going like a house-a-fire (as my grandma would say) these past couple of days. This morning, we awoke to the sound of our aunt calling to us through the window to let us know that our cousins had come to take us to the beach. We had overslept (again), so we scrambled to get ready to go, throwing on our swimsuits and wiping the sleep out of our eyes. The beach was wonderful. This time, we went to the other side of the state to the Atlantic Ocean (which is a great deal colder and more wave-y than the Gulf of Mexico where we were last time we went to the beach. We picked around and found jellyfish and sea shells and got really sandy. Seth had never played in the ocean before, so he took the ‘ole boogie board out for a test drive.
After a couple of hours, we were exhausted and slept in the car on the way home. Now, as I sit on our bed at our aunt’s house (after my lovely shower), I quietly await our family reunion/night-o-fun. We’re going to sing and play music and entertain show videos we’ve made and eat and laugh, and I can’t wait.
We feel like we got about a week of spring, and now, summer is in full swing. All around us is bursting with green and life and newness. The house is filled with the smell of freshly cut grass. It’s so peaceful here–the kind of place you can let your hair down in.
Happy spring/summer, everyone!
